Mizuno MP-52

The Mizuno MP-52 is a high-end golf iron designed as Mizuno claims to provide both "performance and innovation." The MP-52 iron is equipped with unique dual muscle technology; which means the club includes an outer weight pad which positions the center of gravity (COG) both lower and deeper and an inner weight pad that provides more sensitivity and power during a swing. This dual muscle technology allows the MP-52 to provide what Mizuno claims to be "enhanced playability" and a more precise launch angle. Another MP-52 unique feature is the CNC milled pocket cavity; two deep indents milled into the club mallet which repositions the clubs total 14g mass and deepens the center of gravity (COG) even more. Mizuno also claims that these unique performance features allow the club to produce long distance travel and increased launch angles even during a mishit.

I consider myself an expert on golf clubs as I know more than the majority of sales folks out there. I've played with many different types of clubs and of course no one club is perfect for everyone. I'm a single digit player with an average swing speed. I purchased the Mizuno MP-52 irons with Dynamic Gold SL R300. I like the feel of the R flex over the S flex as it's a little softer with a little (very little) more kick. I also own the A4 Adam irons too.

The MP 52's have weaker lofts (2 degrees & 1 degree on the 5 iron) and the shafts come slightly shorter than the Adam A4's. However, there is more weight behind the ball on the Mizuno's that help make up the difference. So far I've noticed that the Mizuno's have a slightly higher ball flight in the long irons due to the extra weight (COG) that is lower. Both clubs have great feel and the Mizuno's use a softer steel. Could show dings quicker so I recommend head covers to keep them looking as good as possible. They also have Grain Flow that helps to ensure consistency throughout the set (i.e. no dead space inside the iron from imperfections in the forging process). I need more rounds before I decide which stays in the bag though, as the Adam A4's are that good.
