The Mono Apple Slicer is a simple device that is used specifically for slicing apples in perfect discs. It was designed by Jessica Battram and won the coveted Red Dot design award in 2005. The slicer works by spiraling around the apple, while avoiding the core and creating thin disc-shaped pieces with its downturned blade. The device can then be used as a cover top for a half-finished apple. It's made from stainless steel and is safe for the dishwasher. Dimensions: 3" x 4".
The Apple Slicer is manufactured by Mono, a small family-owned German company that has a strong focus on quality and specializes in kitchen accessories and tableware.
