The MSI P45 Series of motherboards use Intel's P4 platform, which is based on NVIDIA chipset. The Asus P5Q3 is a 775 socket, ATX Intel motherboard designed for only Intel Core 2 processors. It’s an upgrade from the P5P43TD, in that it adds along an extra PCI 2.0 x16 port, along with CrossFireX support. Everything else remains the same, including a lack of integrated video; a built-in high-definition audio module; and an integrated Gigabit LAN module. Like its counterpart, the P5Q3 relies on Dual-Channel DDR3 2000 (O.C.) RAM to help meet the higher bandwidth requirements of the Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems. The ASUS P7H55/USB3 is an ATX motherboard designed for use with Intel Clarkdale and Lynnfield processors. It resides in the P7H55 line of ASUS motherboards. When compared to the base P7H55 unit, the P7H55/USB3 swaps out two of the USB 2.0 ports for the newer USB 3.0 standard, and swaps one of the PCIe 2.0 x1 slots for a PCIe 2.0 x16 at x4 speed slot. The Zotac GF6100-F-E is a basic motherboard for a low-cost PC build. This is similar to the Zotac GF6100-E-E motherboard, but support for older AM2 socket CPUs has been dropped in favor of strictly AM3/AM2+ support, and memory slots now accept DDR3. This, combined with 2 PCI-E x16 slots and an extra PCI slot, enable the possibility of building a moderately powerful PC capable of casual gaming and all-purpose computing. This motherboard uses the smaller MicroITX form factor, and uses a 24 pin power connector. The Gigabyte GA-H55M-USB3 is a low-cost motherboard that supports the LGA1156 Intel CPU format. The ASRock N68-GE3 UCC is a microATX motherboard with nVidia graphics and AMD processors. The MSi NF980-G65 is an ATX format motherboard with support for AMD CPUs in AM3 format. Like the MSi NF750-G55 it supports AMD CPUs and uses NVIDIA for onboard video support. The Asus Crosshair II Formula is a high-end AM2/AM2+ socket motherboard with tri-SLI capabilities through the NVIDIA nForce 780a SLI chipset. The Crosshair II has 3 x PCI-e Gen 2.0 x16 support for the NVIDIA tri-SLI capable GPUs (They operate as x16, x16, x8 or 3-way x8, x8, x 8 during tri-SLI mode). The Crosshair II supports 32 and 64 bit AMD Phenom FX, Phenom, Athlon and Sempron processors. It also provides HyperTransport 3.0 functionality as well as 4 DIMMS that support dual channel DDR2 1066+, 800 and 667MHz ram modules up to 8GB maximum. A special feature on this particular board includes onboard HDMI/DVI support through the GeForce 8 series onboard video GPU. It also provides 6 USB 2.0 ports as well as an additional onboard USB connector to hook up an extra 6 USB 2.0 ports. It also comes packaged with a LCD Debug "Poster" screen that alerts users as to common malfunctions during setup and during later use; it eliminates the long process of deducting what hardware failures exist within the system. Bundled with the motherboard is a copy of Company Of Heroes-Opposing Fronts; 3DMARK06; and Kaspersy Anti-Virus. The Intel G45 Chipset is Intel's top of the line as of Summer 2008, and is the integrated graphics version of the X45 chipset. Supporting the same high-end Dual and Quad core processors as the X45 the G45's integrated graphic solutions is marketed towards Home Theater PC builders. Intel claims the integrated video decoder puts less strain on the CPU and lets even lower powered processors handle 1080p Blu-Ray discs. As of August 19th these decoding capabilities are not functional and most of the processing is still done on the CPU side. Intel claims they are working on the problem.
