There are two major additions to the q9 that Motorola hopes will entice users to upgrade over the Q: Windows Mobile 6 and HSDPA. Windows Mobile 6 is the next generation of Windows mobile operating system and will bring its own improvements into the mobile space. HSDPA is the next generation of high speed wireless connection which opens phones like the q9 to offering high quality streaming audio and video playback.
