The MSi M22 is a lower-end desktop PC that has the entire computer system built into the back of an LCD monitor; this particular type of computer is called a netbook. Due to the competitive pricing options and hardware benefits of similiar competitor models MSI has found itself right at the bottom of the netbook PC market alongside ASUS. The M22 is the highest, and most expensive, model in the Neton series of netbook PC's being released by MSI. The M22 features a 22" TFT LCD screen with touch capability; the native resolution of the monitor is 1920 x 1080 pixels and the machine supports full 1080p HD content playback. The M22 will most likely feature a dual core Intel Atom CPU running on the Windows Vista operating system, and will also include an optional Blu-Ray drive built-in. The M22 model will include a starting retail price of about $799, but the actual price will vary depending on options users choose. Unlike the low-end MSI netbook model (M16) the M22 has the entire system tucked away behind the LCD screen and does not require a bulky stand. MSI plans to ship the M22 model netbook sometime in March, 2009.
