MSi R5450-MD1GH
$80.00
Released February, 2010
The Pros:Renders games very well at moderate frames per second. Runs completely silently, no moving parts. Completely compatible with Intel boards, and has Linux drivers available.
The Cons:1080p mode isn't actually full screen. Can't handle higher-end gaming needs or full-blown graphics settings. Even though there are three video outputs, only two can be active at any given time.
The MSi R5450-MD1GH is a low cost video card for people who need to take some load off of their main CPU for graphic processing. It is identical to the R5450-MD512H in every way except the memory, which is doubled in this case.

While it is compatible with most graphic standards, a low speed processor and memory will make it suitable for casual games. Those building a home theater can take advantage of its HDCP support, however, to stream video to a variety of outputs.
The processor is a 650MHz ATI Radeon HD 5450 processor, which is supported by 1024MB of DDR3 memory. The memory itself is clocked at 650MHz and uses a 64-bit interface to exchange data with the processor. The card uses a PCI-E 2.1 slot, and outputs in VGA, DVI-I, and HDMI. While it can manage resolutions of up to 2560x1600, expect a major performance slow-down at this level of detail. Both DirectX 11 and OpenGL 3.2 are supported.
