MSi Wind12 U230
$494.67
Released January, 2010
The Pros:Hdmi will support full 1080p playback review states this as a low power notebook when in fact it is the highest power netbook available. Light weight and good build quality, no flexes. Dual core AMD CPU provides good performance improvements over Intel's Atom processors but there are downsides (see cons).
The Cons:Supports alot of functions that will be extras that are hard to find. optonal bluetooth is the bluetooh unit from the u100 found on ebay. tv tuner option will only be sold in the far east, most retail outlets will sell 2gb loaded models rather than the 4gb max as well with a 250gb hard drive. Short battery life due to the AMD CPU, they are essentially toned down versions of their full powered processors which are known for their heat and power consumption. Built in camera's angle is poorly positioned, points too low.
The MSi Wind12 U230 is a Windows 7 netbook featuring a 1.6GHz Athlon Neo X2 dual-core processor, up to 4GB of RAM, and a 160GB, 250GB or 320GB SATA hard-disc drive. This unit packs a fair amount of power compared to its competeing chipset combination Intel Atom / gma950 found in other netbooks and as far as netbooks go this has a rather large screen at 12.1".
