The MSI X48 Platinum is a high-end motherboard based on the Intel X48 chipset. MSI has two X48 motherboards, this and the MSI X48C Platinum. The boards are nearly the exact same, however the X48C does not support ATI CrossFireX dual video cards, has a decreased number of PCIe ports, has only one gigabit LAN port (not dual), and supports DDR2 or DDR3 RAM. It also features a Multi-phase PWM IC, which according to MSI "leads to better power converting, reduced noise and expands the lifespan and stability."
