The MSI X48C Platinum is a high-end motherboard based on the Intel X48 chipset. MSI has two X48 motherboards, this and the MSI X48 Platinum. The boards are nearly the exact same, however if the X48C uses ATI CrossFireX dual video cards, all the PCIe x16 ports are used up because it only has two, rather than four like the X48 Platinum. The X48C also has a decreased number of PCIe ports, has only one gigabit LAN port (not dual), and supports DDR2 or DDR3 RAM. It also features a Multi-phase PWM IC, which improves power usage, making this a "green" motherboard.
