Navigon MobileNavigator (Android)

$60.00 Released January, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Premium navigation package from a reputable company. Augmented reality feature (Reality View Pro). Live traffic updates at no additional cost.

The Cons:At bit pricey at $60.

Navigon MobileNavigator is a high-end navigation package for Android smartphones. Unlike Navigon's iPhone navigation package, the Android version is offline, i.e. its map data is locally stored on the device, which makes the navigation independent from network coverage while saving precious battery power.

Product Shot 2 Navigon is also including an augmented reality feature called "Reality Scanner", which superposes point-of-interest icons on the live camera image. Live Traffic is a service that is included by default, without any additional surcharges or recurring fees. The application requires a minimum of 30 MB of free RAM and about 1.5 GB storage space for maps, voices etc. Supported screen resolutions are 320×240, 480×320, 800×480, 850×480 and vice versa. Its regular retail price is $60 and during the promotional period, ending November 10 (correct?), is sells for $40.
