The Nike Zoom Equalon 3 is a $135 running show for women released in December 2008. This shoe is for women with normal to low arches looking for a soft, stable shoe. It's built on a new last that's narrower in the heel and more spacious in the forefoot. Some testers liked the added space, while others felt it was slightly too roomy. It has a very breathable sandwich mesh upper with surrounding synthetic panels for support. New to both the women's and men's version is a support post that's split into two sections to prevent the forefoot from slapping down as users run. There is a midsole foam makes the shoe feel more stable. On the environmental front, the outsole uses less-noxious chemicals and fewer colors, reducing machine-cutting time, assembly time, and waste from the shoe-assembly process.
