Nikon's Coolpix L18 is an entry-level point-and-shoot digital compact camera that is aimed at casual users who do not need the features found in higher-end digital cameras. Facial recognition, D-lighting (to compensate for underexposure orbacklit situations) and in-camera red-eye reduction are designed to ensure that quick snapshots deliver decent photographs. The L18 does not offer true image stabilization, but rather senses when the camera is not entirely stable and compensates by increasing ISO or shutter speed.
