The Nikon Coolpix P80 is a single-body, ultrazoom camera that contains an 18x Nikkor zoom lens in a hard plastic body. Users have access to full manual exposure controls, but unlike some more costly models the P80 does not offer RAW image capture (JPG is your only option). Nikon has a reputation as one of the top camera manufacturers, and their Nikkor lenses enjoy prestige as well. Reviewers, however, cite barrel distortion and slight but noticeable chromatic aberration in the P80's lens. A broad variety of programmed scene modes, optical image stabilization and the versatile zoom range are all comparable to other similar ultrazoom cameras.
