Made available for pre-order on April 24th 2009 for release shorly thereafter, the D5000 is a DSLR camera from Nikon. Featuring the D90's 12.3MP sensor, HD video capabilities and a new swiveling 2.7" LCD screen, the D5000 is built on a smaller frame. Designed to sit between the D90 and D60 in the Nikon lineup, the D5000 will cost $850 with a 8-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens or $730 for the body only.
