One of Nokia's earlist "mobile computer" devices, the 9300 was both praised and criticized at release. In candybar mode, the device is a typical quad-band phone, though it doesn't allow T9 input. When opened, the user has access to a fulll qwerty keyboard and a 620x200 screen.

More information

It was well received for the quality of the keyboard, and the large suite of included applications. However, many reviewers complained about the lack of some common cell features, such as one-handed use, vibrate mode, no key backlight, and no WLAN.

The 9300i addressed the devices most referenced downsides, the lack of WLAN ability.

How to make your Nokia 9300 vibrate. Ah well, not quite "vibrate", but substtute.
I have made an mp3 riingtone that growls like a vibrate, and if you put it in your "Meeting" profile and adjust the volume suitably, it works OK. not obtrusive, but you can hear it in your pocket. Happy to post the mp3 somewhere for people to use.
