Nokia C7 Astound
$430.00
Released September, 2010
The Pros:Solid Nokia design and build materials - glass and stainless steel. Small and pocketable compared to the majority of oversized smartphones on the market. 3.5" 640 x 360px AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display.
The Cons:Cramped default keyboard. Sluggish performance (rather slow 680MHz Arm 11 processor). Runs the outdated Symbian 3 operating system.
The Nokia C7 Astound is a mid-cost smartphone. On the C7, there are three customisable screens that you can set up functions on, and then swipe from one to another. The 3.5" touchscreen display allows you to zoom in by pinching your fingers, or scroll by flicking on a web page.

The C7 has social network integration, which means that you can quickly and easily get live feeds from Facebook and Twitter, as well as synchronize events. You can also add shortcuts to your friends so that you can easily keep track of them and post photos and comments directly from the home screen. This phone is able to receive multiple status updates at once. The OS for this phone is Symbian ^3, which allows you to run multiple applications without wasting battery life. You can also develop your own applications with this software. Though they have many of the same specs, the Nokia C7 is a step up from the closely related C6-01 in that it has a larger touchscreen display (3.5" as opposed to 3.2"), a larger memory (8GB as opposed to 2GB), and has features such as dedicated camera and volume keys, which the C6-01 lacks. There are color options available for the Nokia C7 smartphone.
