The Nokia N82 is a smartphone with a candybar design released in November 2007 as part of their Nseries line retailing without a service plan for around $500. The N82 runs the Symbian OS v9.2 based off of the S60 3rd Edition platform and supercedes the Nokia N73. This phone is popular in many worldwide markets including Europe, Asia, and North America. There are several notable differences in the North American version: 1) no 3G support, and 2) different firmware versioning. Like other smartphones such as the iPhone and Blackberry Bold, it features rich applications on top of the standard phone functionality including media playback, web browsing, GPS, and a 5 megapixel camera.
