Nvidia GeForce 9400GT

Launched late in August 2008, the GeForce 9400GT is the long awaited budget model based on the 9th generation of Nvidia's GeForce graphics card design. With an MSRP of $59 and years ahead of competing onboard video from the likes of Intel, the 9400GT is nothing to skoff at. Designed to display desktop resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 and makes viewing high definition content a breeze, the 9400GT can also handle light gaming on lower resolutions. While the 9400GT does offer new levels of graphics and media processing power at a new low in terms of pricing, the technology is far from bleeding edge. With the 10th generation of Nvidia cards now months into mainstream use, the 9400GT is in simply an overclocked  previous generation 8500GT.

Pros:
Do you agree?
better than onboard video from Intel
+2agreedisagree

can be passively cooled quite easily
+2agreedisagree

can play older games at lower resolutions quite easily
+1agreedisagree

helps offload video decoding from the CPU
+1agreedisagree

Decent for the price, but only for basic multimedia programs
+1agreedisagree

is better than the typical nForce 630/GeForce 7XXX solutions most nvidia based mobos have
0agreedisagree

Cons:
Do you agree?
can be outperformed very easily by competing cards that cost only a little more (ATI 4670 - $79.99)
+3agreedisagree

active cooling with such small and cheap fans leads to high volume and tonal fan noise
+3agreedisagree

the same as previous generations - only overclocked
+1agreedisagree

probably not a worthy upgrade from onboard Nvidia or ATI graphics
+1agreedisagree

Not a good card at all if you are looking for something for today's games.
