OCZ Throttle

Announced on December 15th 2008, the OCZ Throttle is an eSATA based SSD flash drive that is rumored to be quite affordable. A good alternative to USB for faster transfer speeds, the Trottle will offer 90MB/s read speeds and 30MB/s write speeds. 8, 16 and 32GB models will be offered - with prices ranging from $32 to $160. Sadly this won't free up any of your valuable USB connections however, due to the fact that the eSATA interface doesn't provide power - meaning a USB slot will be used to provide juice to the drive.

Features

  • eSATA interface
  • USB connection for power
  • 8, 16 and 32GB models
  • price rumored to be $32, $56 and $160
