February 23, 2009 at 8:28 pm

"Rather than engage in trivial arguments over whose more stupid than whom, I'd like to enter a review of the product at hand. After spending 600 bucks plus on this Onkyo TX-SR806 I am extremely disappointed. Aside from some annoying but manageable issues, the thing doesn't work right!! I have two HDMI devices plugged into the inputs. There are 5 inputs, I am only using two. Every once in a while the micro logic jams and I cannot get any video output from one device (HDMI capable cable/sat). The 806 says "no input" even though there is. Go to setup and choose the WRONG input, suddenly the 806 says there IS input (even though you'll never see it because the wrong input is selected. Go back to setup and choose the correct input, suddenly the 806 is telling me "no input". Even a master reset doesn't cure the problem!! I tried calling Onkyo....yeah, good luck. After 8 calls, no answer from them and no call back. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEL!! In fact, don't buy an ONKYO at all!"
