The FE series from Olympus focuses on slim design, ease of use, and competitive pricing. At 2/3rds of an inch -- the thinnest of the line -- the FE-320 definitely meets the "slim" requirement. 19 shooting modes, Face Detection, and Smile Shot (which fires off a series of photos when your subject smiles) nicely address "ease of use." In addition to Digital Image Stabilization (which amounts to little more than automatic ISO control and fast shutter speeds), the FE-320 offers DIS Edit to allow correction of blurry images after the fact. In-camera editing extends to lightening shadows, conquering red eye, and flipping frowns into smiles. No camera in the FE series is more capable in low light conditions, with the FE-320 offering an impressive 3200 effective ISO, a maximum aperture of f3.1, and shutter speeds as low as four seconds in Night Scene mode. Add a 3x optical zoom and a generous 2.7" display, and the FE-320 equation adds up to a capable camera.
