The Olympus FE-5010 is a mid-range point-and-shoot digital camera that focuses on being compact. It has an overall resolution of 12 megapixels, and optical zoom of 5x, which is the highest of the FE compact series. It also has two different stabilization features: a sensor that detects and accommodates for shaking, as well as a digital image stabilizer that helps to clarify images even if the subject is moving. Another unique feature of the FE-5010 is the "Smile Shot" that automatically detects when a subject is smiling and rapidly takes three photos, so as not to miss the smile. This camera uses Olympus' TruPic III image processor, which delivers sharper images than the FE models that do not use it. Other features include 18 different preset shooting modes, compatibility with both XD and microSD cards, 2.7"-diagonal LCD screen, and on-screen tips while shooting.
