The Olympus S701 — also known as the Pearlcoder S701 — is an affordable, compact cassette recorder that can record up to 180 minutes with an MC-90 tape @ 1.2cm/sec. It features a built-in microphone that clearly captures audio, as well as a built-in speaker for playback anytime, anywhere. Included are dual speeds (2.4cm/sec & 1.2cm/sec), with the slower one allowing for three hours recording on a 90-minute tape. Additional features include cue/review for fast, easy monitoring; an external jack for hooking up an earphone; and a 17 hour lifespan with fresh AA batteries.
