Its oversized, shielded transformer provides impressive power capacity and stability while minimizing hum. This piece costs $100 more than the Onkyo TX-8255 with the only difference being the 100 watts/channel vs 50 watts/channel. However, it has the same price as the Sony STR-DH700 that offers 7.1 channels x 105 watt/channel.
