Onkyo has specifically integrated a toroidal transformer, 22,000 µF capacitors, gold-plated terminals, and separate transformers for audio and video processing. When the TX-NR5008 upscales video to 1080p, it utilizes its proprietary HQV Reon-VX processor. As a 9.2 channel receiver, a 5.1 channel setup can be used in a home theater environment, while an additional two stereo setups can be used in separate rooms for music playback. This receiver is comparable to the TX-NR3008, a step down with one less USB port and lower-end transformers and capacitors. The Onkyo TX-NR5008 features an overlaid onscreen display to simplify setup and adjustments, and comes with Audyssey sound adjustment to meet the needs of just about any room.
