The Onkyo TX-SR576 is a low-to-mid-range 7.1 a/v receiver with 3 x HDMI 1.2a inputs and support for 1080p. It has a suggested retail price of $479 and will be released in April 2008. Announced along with the Onkyo TX-SR506 ($379), these receivers are the least expensive models in Onkyo's lineup to support HDMI switching, 1080p, bi-amplification, and a second zone of audio. Neither the 576 or 506 supports transcoding or upscaling of analog video sources to HDMI. Look to the step-up model Onkyo TX-SR606 (to be released in the summer of 2008, price TBD) for this feature. The TX-SR576 comes in a new price-point between the TX-SR506 and TX-SR606 that are successors to the TX-SR505 and TX-SR605 respectively.
