The Onkyo TX-SR876 is a 7.1 channel A/V receiver with THX Ultra2 Plus certification expected to be released September 9, 2008 for a retail price of $1799.99. This receiver supercedes the 2007's popular Onkyo TX-SR875. This receiver features 4 x HDMI 1.3a inputs, high-definition audio decoding of DTS HD-MA and Dolby TrueHD, and video upscaling to 1080p, using it's built-in Silicon Optix HQV Reon-VX chipset. It features 140 Watts / channel of power in 8 Ohms at 0.05% THD. Notably, the TX-SR876 adds Audyssey's Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume audio processing to achieve fuller sound at lower listening levels while keeping listening levels steady (for loud TV commercials for example). This processing was not present in the previous generation TX-SR875. It also adds the HD Radio that was available only on the top-line TX-SR905 from last year.
