Very few devices with these capabilities are available, and the ones that are are in another price range altogether. The BDP-83 features an ethernet port for BD-Live (Profile 2.0) support, and also includes 7.1 channel analog audio outputs. The device will include the award winning ABT 2010 chip, allowing for top quality de-interlacing and scaling for both Blu-Ray and DVD media, and will support Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital TrueHD, DTS High Resolution, and DTS HD-Master high-definition audio formats. A beta program was started in March, shipping units to interested parties at $499, before the product was launched in early July with an MSRP of $599.99.
