The Oppo DV-983H DVD player is the manufacturer’s premium model. Oppo's DVD players are renown for providing high-end picture quality for a budget-friendly price, usually under $200. The DV-983H is Oppo's most expensive player, and naturally their best. Video upconversion and processing is handled by Anchor Bay's Video Reference Series ATB102 chipset. On the audio side, the 983H is one of the only players in this price range that includes an HDCD decoder for higher quality CD audio. For multi-format video, picture and music playback, the DV-983H is conveniently equipped with a USB 2.0 port, connecting external USB devices.
