The Sony BRAVIA KDF-37H1000 is a 37” rear-projection, micro display HDTV designed to provide a widescreen (16x9) experience without the bulkiness of an oversized television. It utilizes 3LCD technology to output a 720p native resolution with high detail and natural color. Included also are a bevy of convenience-related features like an on-screen menu system that combines horizontal scrolling with vertically-placed thumbnails; operation of all attached BRAVIA Theatre Sync devices via the included remote control; and an optional Internet Video Link module for accessing the Internet directly from the TV without the need for a PC. As for audio, the Sony BRAVIA KDF-37H1000 creates a virtual surround sound experience using two front-placed, specially designed speakers.

The BRAVIA KDS-60A3000 was the largest of three mid-range rear-projection HDTVs from Sony. The discontinued, 60" model is mostly identical to the 50" and 55" A-Series units, utilizing a 12-bit SXRD chip like Sony's higher-end rear-projection sets to eliminate rainbow artifacts. Motionflow 120Hz technology aims to enable natural motion reproduction, while x.v.Color technology offers more accurate color reproduction via an expanded color space. Advanced Iris technology produces improved brightness and black levels in low-light viewing, while offering settings optimized for brightly-lit rooms as well. Two HDMI inputs are standard. While cheaper than similarly sized LCD and plasma units, the KDS-60A3000 shares the main weakness of rear-projection televisions, weighing over 90 lbs and measuring almost 17" deep.

The AXN-8701 is a handheld Television from Axion that offers a step-down from the company's 8905 model. The ViewSonic N1930w is a 19" widescreen LCD HDTV. A step above the ViewSonic N1630w, this monitor costs $300. It is an LCD display which is generally the best kind of flat-panel screen for viewing in brightly-lit rooms. Having a wide aspect display, it is ideal for DVD movies recorded in the 16:9 format, as well as high definition programming. Interestingly, this piece has a much lower aspect ratio than the ViewSonic N1630w (4000:1 vs 10000:1) Contrast ratio measures the ratio of the luminance of the brightest color (white) of the screen to that of the darkest color on the screen (black) that the system is capable of producing. This contrast ratio is still better than the HP and Dell monitors, which are 3000:1 at best. Response time at 5ms is notably better than the ViewSonic N1630w, but is still less than the standard with the typical value being 4ms (Response time is a determinant of how well fast moving objects are rendered and how little blur happens). It also has better brightness (300 cd/m2 vs 250 cd/m2)

The Coby TFTV1923 is an entry-level HDTV with a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. It has very similar features to the smaller TFTV1524, and can still function as a computer monitor because it has a 15-pin VGA PC input. It has a screen resolution of 1440 x 900 and a 500:1 contrast ratio. The display brightness is 250 cd/m² and pixel response time is 6 ms. The screen's native resolution is 720p, and it has a built-in digital comb filter and video noise reduction.
