The Panasonic DMP-BD85 is a Blu-ray player set for release in Spring 2010 and is the top-end model of the upcoming player releases. The player has the same basic display functionality as the lower models: full 1080p display with up-conversion for 480/720p resolutions.

The player also features full internet support, with a wireless adapter included, for watching video online from such sources as Netflix, Youtube, and Amazon Video on Demand without use. The DMP-BD85 features the highest quality sound specifications of the available players with true 7.1 surround sound, a 192kHz-24 bit D/A converter, and a HDMI Jitter Purifier for clearer bass. Visually, the player uses PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus technology to create clear, vibrant pictures.
