The Panasonic HDC-SD10 is a late 2009 camcorder marketed as the world's lightest high definition camcorder for the camcorders of its year. Since it weighs only 0.5 pounds, the uber light camcorder has a small 8GB built-in memory. It also is able to take SDHC/SD memory cards which makes up for the lack of space on the camcorder itself. The small size restricts the zoom down to a 16x optical zoom, less impressive than camcorders more than 4 times its weight. Like all Panasonic camcorders of its generation, the Panasonic HDC-SD10 comes with advanced optical image stabilization to minimize any effect from unsteady hands or conditions. It also has an active mode that ups the hand-shake correction for times when the consumer is walking or moving.
