Released ahead of schedule in early November 2008, the Panasonic DMC-G1 is a new hybrid camera that moves closer to DSLR than any previous attempt. Allowing for interchangeable lenses as well as a variety of filters, mount adapters, external flases and remote controls - unlike most hybrids - the G1 replaces the miror and optical viewfinder found on traditional DSLR cameras with a new Live MOS sensor, and a miniature LCD screen viewfinder with a high pixel count. Featuring a 3" LED swivel screen with 460,000 dots (which brightens in high light automatically) the G1 uses SD, SDHC, and MMC flash memory to save compressed or uncompressed (RAW) images and video. Comes in black, red or blue.
