Released in May 2008 the Panasonic SDR-H40 is a standard definition camcorder. The little brother of the SDR-H60, it records MPEG-2 to its 40GB internal hard drive or loaded SD/SDHC card. Still images are restricted by the camcorder's lackluster CCD, producing a maximum image resolution of 640x480 (0.3MP). While it is slightly larger than many consumer offerings, the ability to take up to 9-36 hours of footage without erasing or transferring is reason enough to consider this model. Battery life is 90 Minutes.
