Panasonic VIERA S1 LCD Series
The S1 LCD Series is Panasonic's mid-range line of LCD TVs introduced in 2009, offering a 1080p native resolution and a similar IPS panel that's used in the flagship G1 Series. As opposed to other mid-range lines from competing manufacturers, the S1s do not use 120Hz technology which is limited to Panasonic's flagship G1 LCD Series. However, outside of the 120Hz technology, the S1 and G1 lines share much in common including the IPS Alpha panel technology, and the Game Mode picture setting. The step-down from the S1 LCD Series is the X1 Series that sees a move to a lower 720p native resolution.
