I just got the V.5 Mini Monitor and love them. I bought the V.1 Mini Monitors in 1998, which were great in there time, but these new ones are totally worth upgrading too. The V.1 Mini Monitor had amazing highs, and vague lows. The V.5 has great highs and the lows are detailed more than any other speaker i've heard. I've never percieved the bass line in a song this clearly! My Paradigm PDR-12 is a great value but is too vague for the new Mini's. The V.5 Mini's are also very loud, and they don't loose their clarity.

Way to go Paradigm!

After owning the V.5 Mini Monitor for about two months I decided it was too bright! After about 15 minutes the V.5 Mini Monitor became irritating to listen to. I figured this out after buying a pair of v.1 Atom's on craigslist for 40 dollars, I liked the sound better than the V.5 Mini Monitor! I know the brightness had something to do with the amp I was using, but decided to sell the speakers and get Studio 20 V.3 instead. The Studio 20 is much easier to listen to and more detailed as well. Oh, these speakers made me realize how weak the bass was in the Mini Monitor, though the mid-bass was well defined.
I would not recomend the V.5 or V.6 monitor series to anyone unless they have a warm sounding amp, maybe not at all.
What gives Paradigm? The old performance series and monitor series v.1 to v.4 were a much better speaker.
