If you have a new Mac with an Intel CPU, Parallels Desktop allows you to run an operating system in "parallel" with OS X. For example, in a window on your Mac you can have Windows XP with MS Outlook to check your email. This handy application saves you from setting up dual-boot scenario where you have to completely restart your computer to switch operating systems.

With the Intel based chips and technology such as this, the motivation to get a Mac gets just a little higher. I'm not sure if I would get a desktop, but I think an Macbook Pro looks pretty enticing.
