Pearl Jam - Ten (2009 Re-Issue)

Ten is the debut studio album released by Pearl Jam on August 27, 1991.  In 2003, the album was ranked #207 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.  Since its release, some band members have been dissatisfied with the way the album was mixed (supposedly too much reverb giving the album an "over-produced" sound).   On March 24, 2009, Ten was reissued in four editions (Legacy, Deluxe, Vinyl, and Super Deluxe).  The extras on the four editions are as follows:

Pearl Jam's original name was Mookie Blaylock (former NBA player). It was changed after the band signed to Epic Records, as record executives were concerned about intellectual property and naming rights following Blaylock's inking of an endorsement deal with Nike. In commemoration of the band's original name, the band titled its first album Ten after Blaylock's jersey number.

One of my all time favorite CDsd, I'm thrilled they have put out a new mix (by Brendan O'Brien, no less) that is much cleaner and more dynamic and dounds awesome on high end A/V systems; in addition, the MTV video looks and sounds like it was recorded last week; Hey, if you think this is a 'money grab' then vote with your wallet; 'Late in their career'??? You don;t know what you are talking about..we saw them last year at the Beacon Theater and they wereas energetic as any 'new' group....
