Following in the footsteps of the Optio E50, the Pentax Optio E60 is an entry-level digital compact camera with a minimalistic feature set, aimed at what Pentax describes as "digital newbies and travelers." While the 3x optical zoom is pretty standard, the 10 megapixel sensor offers a fairly high resolution for a budget camera. Advanced Auto Picture mode chooses the best scene mode for the shooting conditions, face detection recognizes and locks focus on human faces, and blink detection can alert users if a subject was blinking and the photo needs to be re-taken. The E60 does not have optical or mechanical image stabilization, but it does have a digital anti-shake mode that increases ISO sensitivity and shutter speed to help compensate for camera-shake.
