The Pentax Optio M50 is a 5x optical zoom ultra-compact camera with a 10 megapixel sensor. "Green" (Pentax's term for full automatic) mode and the 11 scene modes make all the decisions about image settings, so the user can point, shoot and trust the outcome. The portrait scene mode includes face detection, and can be set to automatically trigger the shutter when a smile is detected. Users who prefer more control can adjust exposure, contrast, saturation, and sharpness by using the program exposure mode.
