Perfect Pod

With the popularity of individual coffee makers like the Senseo Deluxe increasing, the coffee pod industry is becoming more and more relevant. For many people, this has been a major deterrent to this type of machine as pods can get expensive and don't often come in your favorite flavors. The Perfect Pod can solve this problem as it actually makes pods using whatever coffee grinds you choose. You place the pod filter in the machine and fill it with grinds (this works for tea as well), then you press the top of the already-in-place filter, once everything is in place, the final step is to close the lid of the pod maker which seals the filter in about 3 seconds. It's important to note that these pods are not meant to be used with high-pressure espresso machines or pod machines with a proprietary pod size like the Tassimo or Keurig. Works best with pod size of 71mm.

Cons:

buying pod filters can also get expensive

The machines are poorly made, break, and need replacing. The filters are frequently unavailable. I buy some that you can make yourself; they are flat and you use a tamper to fit them into the podmaker. It works fine and is cheaper. I got that from: http://www.yourcoffeepod.com/ I love the results which is why I continue to use it but the manufacturer leaves a lot to be desired.

At first I thought this machine was a great idea, but once I saw that you couldn't use the pods in espresso machines I was sorely disappointed. That seems like an obvious limitation they should try and fix because otherwise I'm not very interested in this.
