Philips DVP 5140/30 is a basic model with limited features. This DVD player is catered towards those who do not want to spend a bundle, but would like to have a DVD player with some capabilities. The design focus of this model was giving it multi-format playback, supported by DivX Ultra and Windows Media Audio.   A decent picture is produced by the progressive scan and 12bit/108MHz DAC video processer found on the DVP 5140/37. An added feature is what Philips calls the Picture CD, allowing for JPEG digital pictures to be viewed in a slideshow format accompanied by MP3 music files.
