The Philips DVP3340V is a basic DVD player/VCR combination device. Like a VCR, it can record to videocassette, but it can also dub from DVD to VHS or record events at programmed times. It is supposed to be convenient, as it reads a large number of formats, such as DVD-R/RW, MPEG, JPEG, VCD and CDs as well as mp3 files, and targets people who have both VHS and DVD libraries. It has progressive scanning up to 576p, and is compatible with Dolby Digital audio. It has composite inputs and outputs, and digital audio coaxial output. It also has parental controls.
