Philips Fidelio DS8500

$84.79 Released May, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Great sound projection and quality for a smaller unit. The dock itself and the included remote are aesthetically pleasing while the remote also boasts a simple and easy to use layout. A spring-loaded dock connector lets any generation iPod or iPhone fit without the need for any annoying adapters.

The Cons:Bass notes tend to get a little distorted on higher volumes. IPhones work fine with the dock without downloading the dedicated Fidelio app but you'll get a reminder telling you to get the app every time you plug in with no 'never show this again' option. Philips, Samsung and some other manufacturers' television remotes operate on the same frequency as the Fidelio's, causing the dock to wake up or turn off when not wanted.

The Philips Fidelio DS8500 is one of eight Philips Fidelio docking speakers for iPhone/iPod released in 2010. Each Fidelio speaker/station accommodates any iPod model and any iPhone generation without the need for special adapters.
