Philips GoGear Muse with FullSound
$150.00
Released January, 2010
The Pros:Enough internal memory for most people's needs, and memory can be easily expanded. Supplied earbuds work well, provide good sound isolation. Touchscreen is responsive and easy to work with for menu navigation.
The Cons:Uses microSD for memory expansion, a little more expensive and harder to find than SDHC. Bass response isn't very good, tends to not be loud enough and sound a bit flat. Instructions aren't very good, need to read manuals on the screen.

FullSound technology uses a spectrum analyzer to process the audio signal and enhance its frequency spectrum and definition by reprocessing the signal over 10 million times per second. As well, a bass enhancement feature automatically fills the empty space in a track with enough bass boost to complete the audio signal and deliver a natural punch. These are digital ways to bring more detail and impact to music that might have suffered during MP3 conversion. Videos may be downloaded by connecting directly to sites such as youtube, google video or myspace when connected to a PC. Screen resolution is 400 x 240 pixels with a total of 262K colors and there is an FM radio with RDS as well as an audio capture feature for recording MP3s through the internal microphone or from the radio.
