The Philips SoundBar with Ambisound — also known as model #HTS8160B or #HTS8161B — is an advanced 7.1-channel surround-sound system consisting of a soundbar with an integrated Blu-ray Disc player and an optional iPod dock. It utilizes Philip’s proprietary Ambisound technology to reproduce a 7.1-channel experience without the need of multiple speakers and cable. This allows the unit to in fact play high-quality DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD audio videos in full high-definition 1080p. Included also is Clear Voice for more accurate vocals; Fullsound for properly processing compressed MP3 music files; and DoubleBASS, which accurately capture and then recreate both low- and high-frequency audio.
