Details

The moisturizer's main active ingredients are antioxidants for anti-aging and skin renewal. Hope in a Jar's many claims include: reduction in the appearance of wrinkles, skin discoloration, rough texture and dehydration, and the improvement of skin radiance through gentle exfoliation. Hope in a Jar comes in 4 sizes - 0.5 oz, 1 oz, 2 oz and 8 oz, ranging in price from $15 to $105, allowing you test the product with less investment.

Ingredients: water, lauryl lactate, behenic acid, behenoxy dimethicone, glyceryl stearate se, glycerin, behenyl alcohol, cyclomethicone, pentaerythrityl tetracaprylate/tetracaprate, tocopheryl acetate, benzyl alcohol, retinyl palmitate, stearic acid, panthenol, betaglucan, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, xanthan gum, triethanolamine, propylene glycol, methylparaben, propylparaben, diazolidinyl urea

Note: Hope in a Jar contains parabens, a somewhat controversial preservative found in cosmetics that has the potential risk of interfering with the body's own endocrine system through estrogenic activity.

Agreed.

philosophy: Investigation of the nature, causes, or principles of reality, knowledge, or values, based on logical reasoning rather than empirical methods.

NOT (as it says on the product)

Sort of suppose its meant to be their philosophy... or something.

But can't help over analyzing it - which makes me think that by what it says you're supposed to believe that it will work for it to work... in which case why don't I smear any old excessively expensive creamy substance on my face and then delude myself.

Not that I'm saying that the product is a scam - just saying that its advertising makes me interpret it as such. (And also, as a marketer I know what they're going for - I'm not their target market - the name and slogan are great from a marketing standpoint)

it keeps skin moisturized-that i believe, but I do not believe that it will create miracles like erasing wrinkles. It may reduce the appearance of fine lines, but for a really effective treatment, go for plastic surgery. I like the simplicity of this bottle though.

This was greasy, irritated my eyes, and made me break out. Overrated probably due to Oprah buzz. I think people wouldn't want to admit they hate it because if Oprah says it is perfect, thus it must be.

I love this face cream! this is the only face cream I found to help me with my dry/oily skin, it feels smoother and less flaky, I got my boyfriend to try it and we both have been buying it for the past 3 years, though recently it has been irritating my eyes and my boyfriend's too, I have to stop using it :( sux

I truly love this product. HIJ is wonderful and -btw -it does come in a version with SPF 20 in it that is also just as wonderful! it has changed my skin completely and I was using this LOOOOONG before Oprah!

You are not suppose to put it on the eye area - that is what Hope in a Tube, Believe and Dark Shadows are for!   Also, a good exfolient will help with the flaky skin.  Philosophy offers "Micro Delivery Wash"  it is gentle and you can build up to using it every day.

And if one starts prevention efforts like Purity, Hope in a Jar, Hope in a Tube and Hope is Not Enough products and plastic surgery and all of it's negative side effects would not be needed.

I am 41 but I look 28-30! An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Had a horrible, horrible breakout from this product. Swollen red rash with tiny blisters all over face. Eyelids and under-eyes practically swollen shut. Really thought I liked this line based on the Purity cleanser... but won't be trying it again. Now using an Rx cortisone cream all over my face to calm down break out... skin looks horrible by the way even when you look beyond the rash, i.e. dry and wrinkly.
