Pioneer AVH-P5200DVD

$600.00 Released January, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Installation is very easy, don't need a professional. Screen glides in and out of position in a smooth action. Plenty of options for expandability into Bluetooth, HD radio, and GPS.

The Cons:Radio receiver is external, needs to be accounted for in the installation. No remote control included, none readily available. Sometimes takes a long time to read iPod library, not sure why.

The Pioneer AVH-P5200DVD is an in-dash AV receiver featuring a 7-inch flip-out LCD touchscreen. The screen is fully motorized, and has a half-closed setting in addition to the standard open and closed orientations.

Where to Buy

While similar to the AVH-P5200BT, this model lacks built-in Bluetooth connectivity. This model is a step-up from the AVH-P4200DVD, a similar 7-inch in a larger double DIN form-factor. The main features on this AV receiver include playback support for DVDs, VCDs, DivX files and recordable discs with MP3, AAC and WMA music files. Apple iPods can be connected to the front of the AV unit with a USB cable. Advanced controls such as iTunes tagging, album art and text-based search are shown onscreen when an iPod is connected to the AVH-P5200DVD. This receiver is Bluetooth, navigation and HD radio ready. This means users can add functionality with the purchase of additional hardware modules.
