The AVIC-U310BT is a mid-range, in-dash GPS navigation receiver, and one of two in Pioneer's lineup available for under $500. The U310BT adds some functionality to the entry-level model, the F500BT, including a CD player and better iPod/iPhone integration with an optional cable, as touch-screen controls enable sorting by artist, album, genre, and playlist. Built-in navigation features include POI directory, map database, and text-to-speech engine for turn-by-turn directions, all fairly standard in this price range. As in all of Pioneer's GPS offerings, Bluetooth is built-in, enabling headset-free phone calls with compatible handsets. The device also supports XM and Sirius satellite radio.

Pros
- Easy to use, good user interface. Soft buttons on screens improves user experience over many other stereos.
- Great iPod features for compressed sound restoration, and on the fly shuffle by artist or album.
- Detachable face very handy for planning trips with GPS and Navigation outside car.
- Bluetooth, Navigation, Ipod Intergration for a bargain.
- Navigation system so easy my wife likes it.
- Great sound, expandable for anyone who wants to build a system.
- Compatible with HDRadio and SAT Radio attachments.
Cons
- Software is Windows only and feels gimmicky, it lacks utility.
- Comes with limited number of Navigation" points of interest". 400 thousand rather than the 12 million available for other AVIC systems. Restaurants have been completely omitted. The POI's can be upgraded for $100.00 which degrades it's status as a bargain.
- Defaults to Navigation view (or mode) every time you start car. Would be nice if it remember the mode it was left in.
