The Pioneer CDJ-2000 is Pioneer’s advanced solution to the outdated CDJ-1000 (MK1-MK3) model. The first major advancement is the addition of a 6.1” full color LCD panel with a convenient GUI (graphical user interface) that displays song titles, jacket art, detailed track information, and wave form displays. More importantly, the CDJ-2000 hosts a much expanded versatility when it comes to media formats; instead of just handling CDs, it supports DVDs, SD cards, and USB memory devices. Another noticeable upgrade is MIDI-MAPPING, which means a DJ can now program the unit’s 35 buttons to do practically anything: samples, loops, effects, effects, software, etc. Additional features of the Pioneer CDJ-2000 include Pioneer’s new proprietary “PRO DJ LINK” for connecting up to four CDJ-2000s with a single music source; free Rekordbox Music Management Software; and a needle search function for getting to a specific part of a song with a single touch.
